SNACKS AND LUNCH

Children in Reception and Years 1-4 can choose to have either a cooked school meal or a packed lunch provided by you.

Ducklings all have a cooked school meal if they choose to stay for lunch. Children in Reception and Years 1/2 are entitled to a free school meal. If you choose a cooked lunch in Years 3 and 4, you pay online using School Money. If you do not have a login or have forgotten your password, please contact the school office.

Children may bring a cold drink to have with their packed lunch and these should be brought in unbreakable plastic, leak-proof containers.

Our school meals service provider is HCL. They use an online food ordering system called School Grid. The price per meal is currently £2.80. This service is available to all pupils, including Years R, 1 & 2 ‘Universal Infant Free School Meals’, and Years 3 & 4 paid and ‘Free School Meal’ entitled pupils. This will ensure all children receive their favourite food choice. It is available on all mobile phones, desk-tops, laptops and tablets. All school meal payments must be paid online using School Money, the school payment system. Nursery lunches will still be paid for as part of the lunchtime session charge that you pay to school, although you will be able to order your child’s meal through School Grid. It is important to register and then to order your child’s school meals.

Nut Free School

People who suffer from nut allergies can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.

If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger an allergic reaction which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties.

We cannot have nuts in school in any form

Please do not put any nut products in your child’s packed lunch or give them a snack containing nuts. There are many other products that can present a risk, so please check the packaging of products closely.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Snacks

At morning break the children in Year 3 and 4 may bring a piece of fruit or raw vegetable to have in the playground. We are part of the Healthy Schools Initiative and encourage healthy snacks. Children in Nursery class, Reception, Year One and Year Two are provided with a piece of fruit each day from school as part of the Government-funded School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme.

You can purchase a school water bottle from the school office.  We ask that you only fill the water bottle with plain water please.
