FOPS

Friends Of Pulloxhill School (FOPS)

FOPS is a registered charity (reg no 1091439) run by the parents and teachers of Pulloxhill Lower School with the aim of providing additional funding to give the children all the little extras which make their time at Pulloxhill all the more special and enjoyable.  Every parent is automatically a member of FOPS and we are always looking for fresh ideas for events or activities.  If you would like to take part or if you have any suggestions, however small, please come along to one of the FOPS meetings or speak to one of the committee.

FOPS really do make a difference and with your support the children will continue to benefit.

FOPS is headed up by an elected (voluntary) committee.  The current committee is:-

We meet every 6 – 8 weeks to discuss fund-raising events and activities.  Everyone is welcome at these meetings, and any input/ideas for future events are appreciated.  Meeting dates will be communicated on the notice board in the playground and by text message.

What do FOPS do?

  • Through our activities we are able to supplement and support our children’s education with fun social events, gifts and much-needed school equipment.
  • Our biggest achievement to date has been taking over the running costs of the outdoor heated swimming pool that the children use daily during the summer term.
  • FOPS provided the all-weather play surface around the Jungle Gym, allowing the children to make greater use of this wonderful feature.

FOPS funds have also been used on:-

  • Books for the school library
  • Christmas entertainment
  • Christmas presents for the children
  • Christmas play costumes
  • Stage hire for Christmas play
  • School trip coach subsidy
  • Easter gifts for the children
  • Year 4 leavers' presents

How do FOPS raise funds?

  • May Fayre (our biggest fund-raiser)
  • End of term summer disco at the Cross Keys
  • Hallowe’en disco
  • Christmas fayre (on hold for 2009)
  • Christmas night out (parents only)
  • Christmas raffle
  • Sale of calendars, cotton bags
  • Hire of swimming pool during summer for pool parties
  • Online shop (www.buy.at/FOPS) – FOPS receives a small percentage donation on purchases made via this website.  Retailers include Amazon, M&S, Waterstones, Next…
