Herons is the name of the year 3
class, taught by Mrs Frampton,
and Mrs Truelove.
We have a sunny classroom in the main school building with a beautiful flowering cherry tree right outside the back door.
Our school values are displayed in the classroom. Like the other classes, we have a reward jar in which we put marbles when we have been practising values such as co-operation, friendship and respect. When the jar is full we have a whole class treat!
In lessons we build on the work of key stage one. At times we work independently, but working with partners and groups is also very important. We enjoy investigations in numeracy and science.
Herons have a book club that is intended to inspire and challenge readers. Children who choose to be book club members agree to read a number of books written by different authors, over the spring and summer terms.
Children are also offered the opportunity to begin learning the recorder and violin in year 3.
Our class is responsible for the school’s recycling. Each week we collect, check and bag recycling from each room. We are the experts on what can and cannot be recycled!
We work hard in Herons but we also aim to enjoy learning.
